That was again the case Christmas night in Portland. A second-quarter lineup of J.J. Barea, Jason Terry, Antoine Wright, James Singleton and DeSagana Diop not only held the Mavs' lead, but extended it to 10 points. In the fourth quarter, with Josh Howard in the locker room after a third-quarter ejection, Carlisle turned to his small but effective three-guard lineup of Jason Kidd, Terry and Barea. Barea dominated, grabbing four offensive rebounds to keep possessions alive and working a flawless pick-and-roll multiple times with power forward Brandon Bass, who didn't enter the game until the fourth quarter, played the entire period and scored eight points....
